Quarter Auction -- November 13, 2010

The Quarter Auction was a fun success!  Thank you to everyone who came out to bid on such wonderful items.

Board of Education Meeting -- October 25, 2010

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Frederick Classical Charter School.  Our application was well received by the Board of Education!  Two of FCCS's directors, Tom Neumark and Holly O'Shea, answered questions on behalf of the founding families. Additional information was requested by the BoE and submitted by FCCS on November 8th.

Boston Market Spirit Night -- October 7, 2010

Thank you to Boston Market for hosting our third Spirit Night of the year.

 

Community Information Night -- September 30, 2010

This event took place at the C. Burr Artz Library's Community Room, from 6:30 – 7:30 pm.  The presentation included what a classical education means, the goals and vision for the school, the curriculum the school plans to implement, as well as where we are in the application process.  Click here to view the presentation.

We saw many new faces at this Board of Education meeting.  A special thank you to Jeanne Allen, Founder/CEO of the Center for Education Reform, for speaking on our behalf.

 

In the Streets -- September 11, 2010

Frederick Classical Charter School founding family members were on hand to answer questions about school choice, our curriculum, and our upcoming events.

 

Yard Sale -- August 28, 2010

This multi-family yard sale took place at the Amber Meadows Pavilion located at 201 Amber Drive off of Opossumtown Pike.

Public Information Night -- August 16, 2010

This was our last public information night before submitting our application to the Board of Education.

 

Board of Education Meeting -- August 11, 2010

Fourth on the Farm -- July 4, 2010

We had a blast at Fourth on the Farm!  Family founding members were on hand to meet the community and answer questions about the proposed charter school. Thank you to Dani Gurrie, Tots2Tweens and Crumland Farms for a fantastic day.  Thank you to Vicki Younger for donating her face painting talents at our table.


Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A -- June 14th, 2010

Founding family members were on hand to answer questions about the proposed Frederick Classical Charter School.  Thank you Chick-Fil-A for a wonderful meal.


Keys for Reading -- June 1, 2010

We raised awareness of FCCS at the Frederick Key's Game. The night was a great success and we were able to talk to many people about FCCS.


Teachers and Staff Night -- May 27, 2010

Frederick Classical Charter School hosted a teacher and staff night to explain the school's academic program, culture, and potential employment opportunities at the C. Burr Artz Library from 7-8 p.m. on May 27, 2010. You can view the slides from the evening here.

Classical Charter School 102 -- April 20, 2010

Reading Night -- March 30, 2010

Held at the C. Burr Artz Library, this presentation explained our reading program. In addition, many children were assessed for their phonemic awareness. You can view the slides here.


Skate for Haiti -- March 27, 2010

We attended the Skate for Haiti benefit to help Haiti as well as get the word out about the charter school.


Math Night -- February 16, 2010

Held at the C. Burr Artz Library from 7-8p.m. Dr. W. Steven Wilson was our guest speaker for our Math Night. He discussed the benefits of our math curriculum. You can view the video here.
