Help Shape the Future of FCCS
The Frederick Classical Charter School Administration would like to encourage members of our community to consider serving on our Board of Trustees. One of the defining features that sets our school apart from other FCPS schools is the remarkable community we share. As a whole, you are more engaged and invested in the education of your scholars than many families in traditional schools. Our Griffin Triangle is a key part of our scholars’ success. Without it, our scholars would not be able to learn the true, do the good, and see the beautiful with the clarity and purpose that guide our school today.
You may be wondering what this has to do with serving on the Board of Trustees and why it is so important for our families to step forward. The nature of our school places a meaningful reliance on this group. The Board of Trustees sets our school’s vision and empowers the administration to carry that vision forward. Our facilities, both present and future, depend on the work of the Board. We are currently at an important stage as our future home is being planned and developed, and you could play an instrumental role in shaping that future.
Our finances are also guided by the Board of Trustees. Board members help determine how funds are used and support the fundraising efforts that turn our shared aspirations into reality. In many traditional public schools, these responsibilities are handled by a central office. At FCCS, however, they are carried out through the dedication and leadership of the Board. From curriculum and uniforms to facilities and finances, the work of the Board of Trustees plays a vital role in empowering our scholars to learn the true, do the good, and see the beautiful.
The FCCS Administration and the FCCS Board of Trustees work closely together to fulfill our respective roles. Over the past several years, our community has benefited from a strong spirit of collaboration and teamwork between these two groups. We hope to continue building on that partnership for the benefit of our scholars and our community.
At this time, we are in great need of new members to continue this important work. A diamond in the rough does not reach its full potential in reflecting light until its facets are carefully shaped. You could be one of those facets on the FCCS Board of Trustees. Your service could help FCCS shine even more brightly in empowering scholars to learn the true, do the good, and see the beautiful. Please consider this opportunity and email nomination@frederickclassicalcharterschool.org for more details.
