We hope the time off has been a welcome opportunity for rest and that you have been able to enjoy a slower pace with the extended break, the four day weekend, and now the impending snowfall. One of our classical tenets is Festina Lente, or “make haste slowly.” There is always much to do, yet this philosophy reminds us to savor the moment and extract its full worth. This may be through conversation, reading, meditation, or even enjoying a show or movie. We encourage our scholars to think critically about each subject and each moment. We hope that you, as the most influential section of the Griffin Triangle, are able to allow these slower moments to create meaningful memories that will last.
Regarding the impending snow, a community letter was sent during our first week back from winter break. We have heard your feedback and are not planning to shift the A Day and B Day schedule. Have a wonderful weekend. |

This past November, two scholars entered writing contests sponsored by Young Writers. Both had their work selected for publication and are eligible for additional prizes. Leela Gupta wrote a piece entitled The Man on the Outside for the Fright Club contest, and Alex Deguzman wrote a piece entitled Don’t Look Outside for the Stranger Things contest. Congratulations to both of these outstanding scholars. Thank you to Mrs. Hunt for encouraging them to share their talents. |

February 2026 is Advocacy Month |
February is Maryland Charter Advocacy Month, and FCCS will once again participate in advocacy efforts in Annapolis. This year, we intend to broaden our engagement by including staff members, and we are also exploring opportunities for our scholars to participate in age-appropriate ways that allow them to learn about civic processes and the role of public education in state policy.
We also invite parents and staff to join us in this important work. Families and staff are encouraged to ask questions, learn about the legislative issues impacting charter schools, and participate when possible. Our goal is to strengthen our collective voice as a charter school community and ensure our students and staff are represented with clarity, professionalism, and unity. Comments and questions are welcome via email bot@frederickclassicalcharterschool.org
More information will be shared as schedules and logistics are finalized. |

Join us in bringing Classical Principles to life! Each month, see how our core principles shine at school and at home with help from Zeus, our cheerful Griffin mascot, and some members of our community. This fun initiative helps families turn big classical ideas into simple daily habits, boosts parent confidence in at-home learning, and strengthens the connection between school and home.
