So close to a full week, with the warming weather maybe we’ll make that milestone this upcoming one.
Scholars have been hard at work this week, including demonstrating their science knowledge with the Maryland Integrated Science Assessment. We will wrap that testing up this upcoming week. 6th graders had day one of outdoor school and will have their second day next week. Have a wonderful weekend! |

Action Needed: Help Secure Fair Funding for FCCS |
On February 20, Maryland published a draft regulation to establish a statewide charter school funding formula. While this is a step toward transparency, we need your help to ensure it truly protects our students. Without a "withholding cap," schools like FCCS risk losing vital instructional dollars to administrative deductions.
Please take five minutes to submit a public comment by March 23. Your voice ensures that more funding follows the student into the classroom. |
-
How to help: Email doss.msde@maryland.gov with your feedback.
- Key points to include: Support for a clear formula, the need for an 8% withholding cap, and a request for a solution to the facilities funding gap.

Griffin’s Corner: Classical Principles Monthly |

|
We hope you have been enjoying our series, which brings Classical Principles to life each month. Along with Zeus, the Griffin, our beloved mascot, we explore one core classical principle through stories from both school and home. Our goal is to help families build daily habits and strengthen the school-home connection. This month’s principle is: Multum non Multa– Much not Many!
Please enjoy, share, and leave us a like or comment. |

Our next meeting will be held on March 26 @ 6:30pm, with both an in-person and virtual option. |

Currently, we have 171+ overdue library books, along with several outstanding payments for damaged books. We kindly ask for your support in ensuring all library materials are returned promptly. Please note that scholars with outstanding fines for damaged books will not be permitted to check out additional books until their account has been cleared.
We also want to remind families to help scholars protect library books from water damage: |
- Keep books away from water bottles.
- Store books in a dry pocket of backpacks.
- Take extra care on rainy days.
|
If a book becomes damaged, please contact us as soon as possible at library@frederickclassicalcharterschool.org. The last day to check out books is May 16, 2026.
